Costumes are arriving! Dancers are asked to always wear a form-fitting base to ensure the best possible costume fitting.
Costume & Concert Packet Handout: April 16 – 22, 2012
A detailed Concert Packet full of specific dates, information and order forms is distributed along with Costumes and instructions. A parent or responsible adult must be present the last 45 minutes of each of your classes that week. Dancers will not receive their costume/concert packet until their account is paid in full. Please bring a pen so you are prepared to write down information as we go along. It is recommended one attentive adult attend while leaving younger siblings at home. If a dancer resides in two households please let the front desk know ahead of time if two packets will need to be provided. This will not include 2 sets of tickets, name badges or pickup passes.

Zachary Taek Benson known as Bboy NesQuik was born in Busan, South Korea and then raised in Iowa. NesQuik has been dancing since 2001. At the age of 19, he started his first break dancing crew in Pella, Iowa now known as Rabid Pandas Crew. Six years later, he has traveled, performed, battled, and taught around the U.S. and the world. In 2009, he was selected from 1 of 3 finalists to participate in a special exhibition battle held in South Korea. Last year, he auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance Season 8 in Los Angeles and made it to the 3rd round in the competition. He also had the opportunity to work with Courtney Galliano and Robert Roldan from SYTYCD. He continues to learn from top choreographers in the industry from Millennium Dance Complex in LA.
Anyone who performs or competes should take Zach’s classes. In these workshops he will unveil the secrets to award-winning performance and help you get noticed by top agencies in the industry. Lots of people are good dancers but not a lot are great performers. Zach will teach you how to be a tremendous performer in any style you dance.

Our dancers have already done a super-duper marveloustic job at their first two competitions! Stay up to date with their achievements posted on the bulletin board by the drinking fountain. Parents, we are heading into that time of year where we need to remember we have special dance dates coming up! Frequently check your email and spend a few moments checking out the information on the bulletin boards posted in the main lobby. Our Booster Club has a lot of fun fun things coming up. Our BC tremendously helps CMD with a number of things. But they don’t only help the studio; they offer fundraisers that will also help benefit your personal dance account! Make sure you check out their monthly shout-out!
Now that we have lived in our new home for almost a year we will be making some adjustments to the schedule for Fall 2012-Spring 2013. You will find lesser age varieties in our general classes to provide better learning experiences for your children. We will also be upgrading to a newer and better software system that will provide easier understanding and management of your dance account. At CMD we continue to strive to provide the best possible treatment, experience and opportunities to our customers. We anticipate the fall schedule to be available mid-April with registration beginning at the end of June.

Staff Spotlight: Libby Pulver - libby@creativemovementdance.com Libby Pulver has been dancing ever since she was a little girl. She trained with the Norwalk Superstars and enjoyed every minute of class. She filled her schedule and dabbled into every type of dance there is out there but her favorite forms of dance are Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop. Competing throughout high school Libby has been winning awards at all the competitions she went to, excelling in duets and solos winning high honors every time. After a hip injury her senior year took her from dance she realized her true passion was to dance and had the will to continue. Surgery and years of gaining her strength, she’s back where she belongs, only this time she is sharing her passion for dance with students, as a teacher. This is her second year as a CMD Instructor and has mostly taught Starlet, Kinder Hip Hop, Hip Hop 1 and has been a fun substitute in a wide variety of other classes. Libby continues to be a colorful, fun, well-loved addition to the CMD staff!
